It’s free and has a great user base for support and development – and it’s supported by CALI through Classcaster!

User-friendly

We wanted this project to be one we could pass off to a faculty member or student without having to spend a great deal of time in training. WordPress includes simplified user roles that streamline the interface for people who aren’t running the whole site and we’ve had good feedback from other faculty about its ease of use.

Quick Setup

We needed to be sure the setup wouldn’t consume too much of our time. Luckily for all of you, we’ve even minimized our basic setup process through custom plugins that our student worker created to automate the steps we found took experience.

Flexible Organization

Matching the site to the book was the first priority, and I knew the hierarchical categories function would match well with the table of contents. But I also liked that I wouldn’t be limited to that structure alone – we’ve used their

Easy to backup/transfer

Since casebooks can move between authors over time, we wanted the site to be something that could be transferred to a new host later, if necessary. WordPress offers easy backup and export-import features, so we knew this wouldn’t be an issue.
